Amy joined the Y in late 2016, the first of a Shared Services capacity providing HR Management support to the YMCAs across Nova Scotia. In making the decision to join the Y Amy wanted to contribute her skills and expertise to a cause that affects positive change in the lives of individuals and families.
Amy has been working in the HR field since 2006 n a variety of settings, such as telecommunications, retail, refrigeration, and non-profit. Although her primary focus has been in Employee Relations, HR Auditing, and Disability Management, she has experience in managing all spectrums of the employee experience.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison, with a major in English and minor in Music. She had then gone to complete the Advanced Diploma Human Resources Management program at NSCC and has also obtained a certification in the DACUM job analysis methodology through Ohio State University. A Cape Bretoner at heart, Amy enjoys the outdoors, staying active with her young family, and a warm cup of tea.
