Have you ever considered participating in a marathon, but aren’t sure where to begin? Looking to get fit, stay active, or relish the great outdoors? Searching for fun, family-friendly activities to help get your kids moving? If so, you might want to consider participating in the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon as part of Team YMCA. You don’t have to be an athlete to join – in fact, many of our Team members have no running experience what-so-ever. Run, Walk or Wheel with us – The Blue Nose is your marathon, your way all with Team YMCA.

The YMCA is once again involved in the Blue Nose Marathon in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge – a unique fundraising program that unites the unbreakable spirit of walkers and runners, and their passion for building healthier communities. By participating on team YMCA you can help us reach our fundraising goals, while you reach your fitness goals!

The Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon is a fully inclusive marathon for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. In total, there are six running and walking categories to choose from: the Youth Run, 5K, 10K, Team Relay, as well as the Half and Full Marathons.

The Blue Nose Marathon is held in Halifax during the Victoria Day weekend (May 19-21). Routes will vary depending on which race you participate in.

Through individual, and team fundraising efforts, we will be able to contribute to meaningful initiatives that will help the YMCA build stronger communities. The funds that Team YMCA raises will provide financial support to cover race costs for youth who are interested in participating in the Blue Nose Youth Run – but are unable to do so due to financial barriers – and our Strong Kids Campaign. Never fund-raised before? No problem! Our Team can offer suggestions, support, and group fundraising events to help get you started.

Looking to get your kids involved? We hoped so. There are two Youth Runs available for
