Tina has a Masters in Kinesiology, specializing in sport and exercise psychology. She is a certified Personal Trainer and is certified to teach yoga and group fitness.
She currently works as the Lead Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer here at the Y. Tina also teaches a Full Body Strength class, and ensures all participants have a variation that works for them with each exercise.
When not training and teaching at the Y, Tina can be found cycling or running around the city, teaching sport and exercise psychology at Dalhousie University, or consulting on mental performance through the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic.

With 10 years experience in the health and fitness industry, having a background in nutrition, bodybuilding, strength training, and rehabilitation Jenna has focused on individualized training and small group training. She is passionate about improving the physical and mental wellbeing and overall quality of life of all her clients and participants.
At the YMCA Jenna is one of our Personal Trainers, Wellness Coaches and she teaches a HITT style Bootcamp class.
When Jenna is not training or teaching at the YMCA she enjoys spending time outdoors, you can find her running through Point Pleasant Park or reading in the Public Gardens.

Denis is a Bachelor of Kinesiology graduate from the University of Toronto and current Master’s of Physiotherapy student at Dalhousie University. He has over 4 years of personal training experience helping individuals aged 15-80, lose weight, build muscle, improve mobility, and simply feel better.
As a former university athlete and future physiotherapist, Denis loves to incorporate elements of sport training and preventative rehab into his training sessions.
When working with Denis you can expect to learn a lot about your body while being motivated and challenged to reach your health and fitness goals.

Mikaela is a Registered Dietitian in good standing with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association with a sports nutrition specialization. She is a St. Francis Xavier University grad with both a BSc. Human Nutrition with Honours and BSc. Human Kinetics. Mikaela most recently completed a Diploma of Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee.
With a passion for all aspects of nutrition, including the biochemical and social impacts of food, Mikaela works with individuals, athletes, and teams throughout Halifax. As a Dietitian and CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer, Mikaela is able to help you meet your health and wellness goals.

Spencer is a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology graduate from the University of Calgary. He is currently a Professional member of the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance and the Kinesiology Association of Nova Scotia.
He has experience working with clients managing a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing athletes with sport specific training. Spencer utilizes his unique background to bring elements of athletic training, active rehab and education to his sessions.
When not working at the Y, Spencer is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology and can be found watching, playing or coaching Basketball, Soccer or Golf.
