Individual Personal Training
Work one-on-one with a certified personal trainer to effectively achieve your goals. No matter what obstacles you face, personal training will provide you with the individual attention you need. Individual personal training includes an initial consultation, customized programming, ongoing motivation, and professional assistance.

Our certified personal trainer will work with you and a partner to achieve fast results with a fitness plan that is tailored to both of your specific needs. Partner personal training includes an initial consultation with both clients.

Lead Personal Trainer
Dominic is a seasoned personal trainer boasting a wealth of experience and specialized certifications, including Polquin Education in strength training, Sports & Exercise Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning, and Fat Loss Coaching.
Dominic is an integral part of our team at the YMCA, where he passionately dedicates his time to guiding clients on their fitness journeys. With more than a decade in the industry, Dominic has honed his skills across various fitness levels and age groups. Nowadays, he primarily channels his expertise towards assisting middle-aged adults, helping them achieve improved strength and mobility through functional training. Outside the gym, Dominic is equally committed to maintaining a balanced lifestyle. He is fervent about his own mental and physical well-being, regularly engaging in strength training, playing sports, and partaking in a variety of outdoor activities.

When she’s not at the Y, Kathryn is either travelling or is at home cooking, gardening, reading or spending precious time with her family and friends.

Halima Haydaryaar
Her passion for fitness and health stems from her own journey of transformation, which has driven her to help others build strength, confidence, and resilience. Halima works with clients of all fitness levels.
Outside of the Y, she enjoys hiking, exercising at the gym, and learning new languages.
Roger Stalwick
When not training at the Y, Roger can be found in the pool, weight room, cycling outdoors, hiking, skiing, and sometimes even surfing!
Kadeem Joseph
When not training at the Y, Kadeem can be found cycling around the city, studying massage therapy, and gaming.
Katie Veinot
Katie has a Bachelor of Recreation & Sports Studies with a minor in Business Management and is a certified ACE Personal Trainer with Fitness New Brunswick.
She currently works as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor here at the Y. Katie works with all fitness levels in her classes and personal training sessions. She specializes in strength training, weight loss, rehabilitation, core strength, healthy meal options, bodybuilding shows, endurance, mobility, and stability training.
When not training and teaching at the Y, Katie can be found hiking with her husky Teva, coaching outside of the YMCA, relaxing with friends, trying new foods, and travelling to different places.

Bardia Habibian
He was initially a volunteer with our LiveWell program and now enjoys working at the Y.
When he’s not at the Y. Bardia spends his free time working out, going on walks with his dog, and spending time with friends and family.

When not training at the Y, Rohan can be found doing his own workouts and working at his full time job.
How to Start:
- Set up a free consultation with the trainer you want to work with by reaching out directly to them ([email protected])
- If you’re not sure who to work with or where to start, email our Lead Personal Trainer: [email protected]
- Discuss your goals, health history, and any injuries they should know about during your free consultation
- Decide on the number of sessions that make sense during your free consultation
- Purchase sessions (non-refundable / non-transferrable)
- Fill out your Client Intake Form
- Begin your sessions! (typically the first session is an assessment of your current strength, balance, mobility, etc.)
- Note: You must provide >24 hours notice to cancel a personal training session without being charged for it
Become a Personal Trainer
Want to become certified to train others? The YMCA Personal Trainer Certification course accepts 10 registrants and runs twice per year, happening in the fall (mid-October to late November*) and spring (mid-April to late May*).
*Practical exams are booked after the course finishes
