Active Living Program
Active Living for Newcomers
Active living is a vital component of a healthy lifestyle and a key factor in successful settlement. At the YMCA Centre for Immigration Programs, we offer a range of opportunities for newcomers to engage in physical activities, both at our center and within the community. Our diverse programming ensures there’s something for everyone, promoting an active and inclusive lifestyle for all.
Teach and Talk
Enhance your English language skills in a welcoming and informal setting. Acquire valuable knowledge in areas such as computer literacy and financial literacy, or receive support in preparing for the Canadian Citizenship test. Our classes cater to learners of all levels, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.
Senior Programs
At the YMCA Immigrant Centre, we offer weekly sessions designed specifically for seniors. These gatherings are all about making new friends, having fun, and learning together. Our diverse topics include health and wellness, socializing, and English language learning, all tailored to enrich the lives of our senior community.
Social and Recreational Programs
At the YMCA Immigrant Centre, we offer a wide range of recreational opportunities. Our team is here to help newcomers get involved in activities and sports at various centers, providing assistance with navigation, registration, and funding applications. Enjoy our special events, including day trips, intergenerational activities, weekly Family Socials, and programs during March Break, PD days, and summer.”
