Fitness adds years to your life and life to your years
Our YMCA Forever Fit classes are led by qualified YMCA fitness instructors and are set to lively music to help you get moving all while having fun.
Forever Fit is a physical fitness and health education program geared for participants over 55 years. The class is offered two to three times per week in eight locations in church halls, senior centres, and community centres across Halifax and Dartmouth. The success of our YMCA Forever Fit Classes dates back to more than 30 years!
Each class is made up of four parts which focus on improving your aerobic fitness, balance, strength and flexibility. The four parts are: Warm Up, Low Impact Aerobics, Muscular Strength & Endurance, and Stretching & Relaxation
YMCA Forever Fit is guided by a Volunteer Advisory Committee made up entirely of participants from each site and certified instructors. YMCA Forever Fit, as a low-cost self-sustaining group, very successfully improves participants’ aerobic fitness, balance, strength and flexibility and creates lasting friendships.
